Vertex Form Calculator

4.2/5 - (5 votes)

The Vertex Calculator is a free online tool embedded in multiple user-friendly websites that displays the exact coordinates of the vertex point for the given parabola equation. In conic sections of maths, the parabola vertex is a point where the said parabola crosses its axis of symmetry.

We also know that the standard equation of a parabola is y = ax2+bx+c. Now, if the coefficient of the term x2 turns out to be positive, the vertex will be in the bottom of the usual U- shaped curve. Although, if the coefficient of the term x2 is a negative term, then the vertex point will be in the top of the U-shaped curve.

The standard equation of the parabola in terms of vertex equation is given by:

y = a(x-h)2 + k.

The procedure to use the vertex calculator is as follows:

Step 1: Simply enter the values “a”, “b”, “c” in the respective input field.

Step 2: Hit the button “Solve” to get the coordinates.

Step 3: You will get the vertex coordinates displayed in the output field.
